The nearest shops, bars, restaurants, doctors and dentists, garages (and a Saturday morning market) are at the picturesque hill-town of Cordes sur Ciel, only minutes away by car. Cordes, at the heart of the bastides region, is reputed for its historic architecture, numerous artists, truffle markets and medieval festivities. Nearby are other charming ancient hill-towns, the vineyards and chateaux of the Gaillac wine district, the wooded valleys and hills of the Grésigne forest, the new sports and leisure complex of Cap’ Découverte, and numerous country restaurants serving the many gastronomic delights of the region.

It is only a 20-minute drive to the fine medieval city of Albi, with its stunning cathedral, magnificent Toulouse Lautrec museum and an 18-hole golf course. The beautiful wooded gorges of the Aveyron valley are only 30 minutes distant, with canoeing on the river and the Sunday market at Saint Antonin Noble Val. The cultural and cosmopolitan charms (and international airport) of Toulouse, la ville rose, are within one hour by car.
